Question : Can i Play Swtor on a Mac ? Simple Answer : Yes

Our Testing Group has found a solution where the swtor client played nicely on a Mac without any problem at all !
Unfortunately the tester was only in the first public beta weekend and he didn't tested the new build where the graphics were in full without restrictions to give feedback first for the performance and second for compatibility of the client.
The Solution is : a) Parallels Desktop 7 and b) run the client under windows 7 environment.
Of course this solution needs a new Mac Build ,NOT any mac older than 3 or more years old !
His machine is not the latest iMac , but an Apple
iMac 27 (i5) 3.1GHz
Ram: 4GB
Disk: 1TB
Graphic Card: Ati 4850 512 mb ram.

Do not enable the security device until they fix the restoration option

I did the mistake to enable the security device that is shipped with collectors edition and the next day this device stopped working because cat climbed on the computer desk and dropped water on the security device .
i was not at my home when this happened and i found the security device not working . i tried to login in to the game and in website and unfortunately i couldn't , without type the security code that the device generates . later on the afternoon the device worked once and i logged in the website and then stopped.i am just loggin in swtor forums and i can not access again my account .
BIOWARE ! Swtor is The Best Mmo , i Ever Played

I am fan of STAR WARS lore and i never hide it
(that's why i am the owner of this domain) but Swtor is the best mmo that i have ever played and i have played all the mmos from uo and after !!!
Two weekends in beta and i didn't stopped playing your game . Swtor is not just the KOTOR 3 in mmo version .... it is more !!! This game will brake all the standards in game industry and i am very happy that i trusted you and i choosed to buy the Collectors Edition and after two weekends i can say ... only these two weekend worth the 150 euros that i spend to buy it.
Who said Swtor's Graphics are Bad ?

Today on our TeamSpeak Server we had a conversation about the Graphics's of Swtor and one of our teammates said us that the Graphics's are outdated and they are like a twenty years old game . I really surprised because i played the last beta weekend where the developers removed the cap on the graphics and we enjoyed the full version of the game .
The Urban myth that have created around the Graphics of Swtor started from the beta testers , because Bioware capped the Graphics at 50% of the maximum during the whole beta period. Beta testers knew this situation from the beginning of beta tests , like our member lord basil , soz mate
,but they never stopped whining about that.
I feel the responsibility to stop this Urban Myth right now about Swtor's poor or outdated Graphics and i will do it with some pictures that i took from the Last Beta Weekend .in many pictures of them you will see also the fps . my pc is 4 years old and i have a video card that costs right now 60 euro . i played the game in high settings on a 24" screen and in 1600x1200 game resolution !
enjoy with me again now some pictures that i took during the last beta weekend :
check the details from water and ground . they are amazing !!! Click on the image for full View
The Amazing Music of Swtor

Bioware gave to the public the opportunity to hear and enjoy nine soundtracks from the game of Star Wars : The Old Republic . My favourite soundtrack is from the Coruscant, The Capital of Galactic Empire , maybe because i loved the town in game .
All the Nine excellent Theatrical Soundtracks are amazing and i included all in my YouTube Channel in a playlist under this link > http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLE960F9...
Some clarifications on item modifications
Submitted by Dev Robot on Tue, 12/06/2011 - 18:53So, it turns out some of the patch notes regarding our modding system were probably poorly written (by me, I must add) and generated quite a lot of concern. Ill try to explain the changes better and, while I'm at it, explain the logic for those changes.
To start with, weve introduced a new color and item type: the Custom items. Those are shown with an orange border and are fully moddable. This change is purely cosmetic. What we have done is take all fully moddable Prototype items (blue) and simply changed their icon color. This helps us create a better and more unique identity for fully moddable gear.
Since other games have used orange to signify truly rare and epic gear, let me clarify that orange in Star Wars: The Old Republic has nothing to do with 'epic' gear. (And for those curious, our version of 'epic' is a very deep purple, bordering on a rich blue). The orange we use is actually the old bronze color we developed a long time ago when our color coding was based on metals (bronze, silver, gold, platinum, etc).
Prepare Your SWTOR Client for Early Access and Launch
Submitted by Dev Robot on Tue, 12/06/2011 - 18:13In preparation for the official release of Star Wars: The Old Republic, we wanted to make sure that everyone has the correct game client installed on their machine.
If you participated in our Game Testing Program before November 25th, we recommend that you uninstall the game testing client (refer to instructions below) and then download and install the launch game client. We’ll update this post with more instructions when they’re available. You will need 27GB of free space to install the launch game client. The actual size of the game client file will be smaller.

Server Error (3)
Submitted by Dev Robot on Sun, 11/27/2011 - 00:06Hi everyone,
We're currently investigating this issue and need your help, please send your launcher logs, as well as your DXdiag files, to testing@swtor.com.
Please don't post both files here in this thread - it makes it very hard to read the Forums overall. We have CS agents standing by to receive those files and pass them to our diagnostics team.
To locate your launcher logs, please look in this location, assuming a default install of the game:
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA\BioWare\Star Wars - The Old Republic\logs
Please send ALL logs you can to the address above.
For DXdiag reports, follow these instructions:
- For Windows XP: Click Start -> Run, and type 'dxdiag' (without quotes), and hit OK.
- For Vista/Windows 7: Start -> Search, and type dxdiag (without quotes) and select dxdiag from the list. (It will have a blue circle with a yellow x for an icon.)
- If a dialog box comes up, click yes.
- When the progress bar in the lower right corner of the program is done, click the 'Save All Information' button
- Save the information to somewhere you'll remember (the desktop is the easiest choice).
- Send that info, along with launcher logs, to testing@swtor.com
Thank you once more for your patience as we diagnose this issue.
The Old Republic Opens Up!
Submitted by Dev Robot on Tue, 11/22/2011 - 18:27Folks,
As of now, the non disclosure portion of our Game Testing Agreement is officially lifted. While all players must still accept the Game Testing Agreement, from this point on testers may now freely talk about their experiences this past weekend in the game, as well as post screenshots and gameplay videos of their testing experiences. We encourage you to come join us on the official Star Wars: The Old Republic Forums to share your experiences!
The Star Wars: The Old Republic community site will have a copy of this message on the forums and it will also appear in the Patcher. Players may not talk about nor reprint posts from our testing forums as they are still fully covered by the confidentiality portions of our Game Testing Agreement. And all players who want to participate in the upcoming Beta Test Weekends still have to accept all terms of the Game Testing Agreement. So, other than that, free feel to talk about and share your experiences in Star Wars: The Old Republic.
My thanks go out to everyone who has beta tested and continues to beta test the game. It has been with your help and feedback that Star Wars: The Old Republic is where it is today. We really appreciate your efforts.
May the Force be with you!
Greg Zeschuk
RSVP Loop - last update of the night
Submitted by Dev Robot on Tue, 11/22/2011 - 07:36Hello all - last update of the night on this issue.
As mentioned; we now have an idea of how many accounts are affected. This means you no longer have to post and let us know you're 'stuck in the loop' - we know what queries to run on our side to find you in the system. Don't feel obligated to post.
We are going to have to manually fix those affected, and unfortunately the total number included is considerably larger than those who've posted here - but still quite small in relation to the overall number of invites today. Once that process is completed I'll let you know in this thread.
In summary, you do not have to do anything. We'll be working on this overnight and will hopefully have an update early tomorrow, Austin time (about 10 hours from now, I'd guess).
Thanks for bearing with us on this.
RSVP Loop - A quick update
Submitted by Dev Robot on Tue, 11/22/2011 - 06:17A quick update:
We've isolated the accounts affected by the 'loop' issue and we're working on a fix, which will happen within our systems. When I have an ETA on completion I'll share it with you.
If you are not affected by this issue, please do not post in this thread. If you have issues installing or downloading the game, you may check the Customer Service Forum for relevant info (if you have already accepted the testing invite) or email testing@swtor.com. Thank you.
