Our Testing Group has found a solution where the swtor client played nicely on a Mac without any problem at all !
Unfortunately the tester was only in the first public beta weekend and he didn't tested the new build where the graphics were in full without restrictions to give feedback first for the performance and second for compatibility of the client.
The Solution is : a) Parallels Desktop 7 and b) run the client under windows 7 environment.
Of course this solution needs a new Mac Build ,NOT any mac older than 3 or more years old !
His machine is not the latest iMac , but an Apple
iMac 27 (i5) 3.1GHz
Graphic Card: Ati 4850 512 mb ram.
I am fan of STAR WARS lore and i never hide it (that's why i am the owner of this domain) but Swtor is the best mmo that i have ever played and i have played all the mmos from uo and after !!!
Two weekends in beta and i didn't stopped playing your game . Swtor is not just the KOTOR 3 in mmo version .... it is more !!! This game will brake all the standards in game industry and i am very happy that i trusted you and i choosed to buy the Collectors Edition and after two weekends i can say ... only these two weekend worth the 150 euros that i spend to buy it.
Bioware gave to the public the opportunity to hear and enjoy nine soundtracks from the game of Star Wars : The Old Republic . My favourite soundtrack is from the Coruscant, The Capital of Galactic Empire , maybe because i loved the town in game .

[ Swtor Gameplay ] There is nothing more annoying for a veteran or a skillful role-playing gamer from the players that have to cooperate and they have not understood the precise role of their played character.As a Person and after 35 years of playing video games and 10 years for MMoRPG i demand from my teammates to know well their role in the game and not diverge too much. In [Swtor Official Advanced Class url] there is a very nice application that full explains classes and advanced classes of each character. The problem is that the advanced class differentiates very much the gameplay to be followed by each player when he picks one of them.
After a certain level , each player will have to choose an advanced class for his class and I'm sure if he has not thought about this until that moment,where he may experience a disappointment when he realized that the role of the character does not match his playing style.
He will experience problems in team play( raids and inside his guild ) and may have to launch New Characters to meet his real needs of gameplay or even quit the game , since of course he has created a bad impression until that time to his teammates. To start from scratch with hook head is not the best thing for a player for his ingame rumor.
Before certain months we read in internet that the most popular video game in the planet this moment wow that it loses 600 thousands subscribers each quarter (source: Google Search).The wow is certain that apart from the most popular game, is perhaps the most completed right now and certainly the number of million subscribers justified by the factor of the [complete game].The players can spend a pleasant time at any moment they decide to enter the game.
But the WoW is already in its seventh year and this "marriage" between the players and the game has become just a habit. Everything in life after some time it can not offer new experiences ,and WoW that it had to give,already gave it. You can see in the chart this drop of interest about Wow !
As long as it wore out wow, new games came to the fore ready to displace it. The two most important were Aoc and Aion. Unfortunately neither of the two did not succeed. I hear people ask, "what are we going to do at end game ?" You do understand you are asking "what are we going to do when we reach the end of the game ?" The game is over, you've won , you finished it. But There's a whole world full of pve quests you can do at max level ! Not to say that I object to them putting in a whole world full of max level quests. Far from it , I think it's a great idea , and they should add more and more. But it's not technically "End Game". You havn't finished questing yet.
Umm...then that technically is not end game. It may be "Max Level" stuff, but if you still have quests, you are not at the end of the game yet.

The previus Thread was closed by a moderator due of 1000 posts issue and he opened a new one . The major problem with these statements is EA's CEO didn't clearly explain his thoughts of what Microtransactions he meant or if swtor will have Microtransactions.
There are many type of Micro-transactions ,some of them affect player game ,some of them not.for example, items like special looking rings-earings ,dresses,mounts that do not give any extra stats, XP gain, etc and they are only cosmetics
i don't think there is any gamer in the world that is against them.
Οn the other hand there are the items that change stats, XP gain , fire power , armor defense .these items used a lot in free to play mmo games and they the reason that free to play many times cost more than these mmo with monthly fee.
Sony announced today that will end SWG mmo on 15 December 2011 . I played SWG for years, and what really made the game for me was it was Star Wars, and had a great community to play with. That is what carried me for so long, and when my community left, the game was done for me. Can't believe it will finally be ended, loved that game.
SWG It was ahead of it's time.

We write to you today to inform you that on December 15, 2011, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) and LucasArts will end all services (MMO and Trading Card Game) for Star Wars Galaxies (SWG). The shutdown of SWG is a very difficult decision, but SOE and LucasArts have mutually agreed that the end of 2011 is the appropriate time to end the game.
So far it seems like they have only been testing in small amounts ( 100 players ) and that will most likely not be the case with the release.

Today i recieved a newsletter from Funcom that informs me that they decided Age of Conan will be become a free to play mmo game.This mmo game was a great project but they released it too early before 64 bit of windows be more popular and with many technical problems . It is a very good mmo with excellent graphics for mmo game and it is worthy a second change or just to try it .

You've all watched Star Wars (well I hope you did..) I read a few developers posts about the cross-faction talk and the said that it's only enabled in the beta, and its highly likely that it will not be in the finished game.
When I heard about that it struck me, being that I'm a heavy PvPer ,i am also and a heavy socialize gamer that use the chat a lot . Maybe if it can be reconsidered being that Bioware/Lucasarts said they want to make this feel like a REAL star wars experience *, Cross-faction talk in swtor should be enabled. It would really add a sense of reality in the game, especially in PvP atmosphere inside the game.
It's used in everquest , and works wonderfully, and it is not used in Aion and that was a reason that pvp in aion sucks a lot ,because you can see that the enemy speaks but you can not read what he writes
Always ,in pvp games ,a bit of QQ chat is like the alas of pvp and many times the qq after pvp is the reason for the mmo gamers to try more to be better in pvp strategy (swtor = startegy ) , armor - weapons and levels
Although I know there are people who don't PVP at all, wouldn't it be easy to just have an option where cross-faction talk can be disabled in Tor due to various reasons of BAD LANGUAGE in cross-faction talk ?
*In every battle with lightsabers in star wras there was a QQ chat between star wars characters !!!!!!!
Apparently EA is starting to recruit for another MMO it wants in the works. Although, it is important to keep in mind that the production time needed would most likely be several years and it wouldn't create an immediate impact on TOR, but it may in the long run if the game's really being designed to keep a long term player base.
